Prompt Response-What does it mean that Thomas Jefferson, a man who owned over 200 slaves, was writing American’s Freedom document? What are your thoughts on Thomas Jefferson, a leader of America just leaving when America needed him. Do you think that if Thomas Jefferson had stayed in American some of the laws about slavery and Aferican Americans would not of been passed, if so why?
1. I think it means that Thomas Jefferson wanted to show people that he "respected" blacks instead of actully respecting them. If he did have slaves then maybe he regretted some of his decions but didn't really want to change his own life.

2. I think that I am annoyed at Thomas Jefferson for trying to get other people to do something and not doing it himself. Its like saying, "if you don't eat all your veggies you won't get dessert but I am not going to eat my veggies." I also think that you can't start something and then ditch it if you don't like the outcome. That is not fair to the rest of the community or even world.

3. I think that since Thomas Jefferson said he really cared about black people maybe some things would not have happened but I still think they would have happened eventully. Even if Thomas was there.
