      <description>This is a  collage depicting my understanding of PBIS and it&#39;s support for students with behavioral problems, for example, students who suffer from Emotional Disturbance Disorder.  Within an inclusive classroom setting, I will have student&#39;s who suffer from behavorial disorders.  These children have all ready been through so much trauma, I cannot add to their stress.  It is important as an educator, I keep the class a safe, positive, and supportive environment.  </description>

         <title>Reinforcement Systems</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Token Economics, Behavior Contracts, and Group Contingencies are effective reinforcement systems to help keep the class under control and good behavior.  The positive side to reinforcement systems is they provide a unified system, that the class has to work together achieve success.  It can help students interact better socially, and keep them motivated to stay on task.  However; the negative side to reinforcement systems, is the negative reaction from a student's peers, if he or she does not behavior according to the rules.  Also, the whole class has to pay for the one or two students' negative behavior.  This downside to reinforcement has to keep teachers hyper-aware of how we react to negative behavior, and how we deal with each student.  Teachers must model positive behavior and support, so all students are aware that negative behavior towards each other is unacceptable.     </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It is also crucial as a educator, to have a negative consequence system in place, with appropriate consequences for each negative behavior.  If a student does not finish their work before the day is done, it is not acceptable to send them directly to the principal's office.  A child needs fair warning, and a chance to work on their behavior before they get an extreme punishment, such as a school suspension.  When struggling with a student, it is also a good opportunity to reflect on yourself as a teacher.  I plan to ask myself a few questions when put in this situation.  Why does this student not want to cooperate with me?  What can I do better to help him/her deal with her frustration?  Where is this frustration coming from?  Are they struggling with material, or is this an internal conflict?  How can I modify the lesson to positively motivate them to cooperate and do their work?  </div>]]></description>
