Some beliefs were that protecting our economic security and interests is more important then other ideas. 

We should build alliances with other countries to protect our interests and other security.

We must maintain our long standing alliances in Europe. for protecting.

Most problems afflicting the world beyond U.S borders cannot be solved by the U.S. 

Protect U.S industries from unfair foreign competition and U.S jobs from cheap foreign labor. 

By not interfering in other parts of the world where our presence may not be welcome we will avoid unnecessary conflict. 

Deeply cutting our military power will leave the U.S incapable of standing up for democracy or protecting our security and economic interests.

Some beliefs were that we did not have full responsibility to make the rest of the world Democratic if they do not want to. 

A world grounded in U.S economic and political principles will strengthen U.S economy and make us more secure. 

Military should be used to prevent war not start them, no need to use to stop the spread of other policies of government in which U.S do not agree with. 

Pressuring other governments to adopt U.S democratic principles will spark international criticism that the U.S is trying to control the war. Conflict may arise.
