Close Up

The close up is a shot in the moving frame that shows detail and intensity. This photo for example is used to show Harry Potter's bruises to show that he's clearly been in a fight, as his eyes also suggest that there is a challenge in front of him. This shot can also be used to when there's something on the character or object that has to be noticed for the sake of the movie's plot and story.

Establishing

The establishing shot in a moving frame is mostly used to show a new area which our main character is going to adventure. As you can see with The Walking Dead with Rick Grimes going into the zombie infested city, you get the dull sky of the city as well as the showing of cars wanting to leave. This also brings intensity depending how creepy and dangerous they make the area look which can also give you sympathy or make you feel fear for the main character who's going into this place of choice.

Low Angle

The low angle shot in a moving frame is used to show a character's power and height. To make them seem intimidating for the other character or their enemies. I've seen most examples used for the bad guys as they now seem like a much bigger threat to the good character. As you can see in this shot The Joker looks strong and powerful, might even; this says to the audience and viewer that Batman is going to struggle against this brand new threat.

High Angle

The high angle shot or sometimes known as a birds eye view is when the screen pans upwards to reveal something the character is looking at from the sky or could be use to be the perspective of the person or thing coming from the sky. In this example we see Hawkeye jump off a building and prepare to shoot his arrow as he's looking for his target as well as the camera angle we know he's going to aim upwards. You also get the details of the floor below which shows he could be in trouble if he doesn't save himself after this shot.

Film Clip Analysis

The first 7 seconds of this clip is an establishing shot as we see Bane walk into the stadium walkway as you see in front of bane is a great portion of the inside of the stadium where you'll be able to get a good look at the amount of people there and establish the potential danger. After this we get a few closeups of both the football team who's playing in this stadium and also the police officers running through the underground section which helps show the people who are going to be affected by the next events. We see a close up of the football team with their hands on their heart to the American anthem sung by a child, this is the perfect mix of sympathy and foreshadowing. During this we see Bane being given the detonator in a rule of third style scene as we can assume that it's Bane as we can see him in the shadows, as well as the danger that can be caused to the visible people in the back of the scene. After this we get a close up of the football team again with a roaring crowd behind them which shows the spirit of the city, which is very helpful given the events that follow later with Gotham being under control. We then see the pan shot of the audience, getting excited over the excitement of the potential game ahead. We get an establishing shot of the one of the players with the audience next to him. As Bane presses the detonator we get a cut to the police officers who hear the explosion as we see a high angle view of their freaked out expressions. We then see a fast motion shot of the player running through the stadium unaware at the dangers as they focus on the player with the ball in hand. We get some cross cutting with the police being trapped, the car driving through the city and back to the stadium. We get a dolly in of one of the players presumably running to the goal without realizing the the danger is behind him. As he gets to the goal we get an establishing shot of the danger that just occurred. During this we also get a birds eye view to mix up the camera angles a little more.
