Starting anew as a student is always daunting but the faculty at EMCON were supportive and gave us space for growth. I have enjoyed my first semester of doctoral studies and look forward to continual learning. As a distance/online learner, I have felt included and supported in all aspects.

My favorite moment(s) during the semester was preparing a piano piece for our philosophy alternative assignment and watching my other cohort members creatively share their interpretations of nursing science and philosophy.

My research team and I gave a podium presentation at Sigma's European Regional Conference in June. We continue to expand our community partnerships and continue to receive supportive feedback from students who feel more confident having gender representation in the undergrad curriculum. I submitted an abstract to the St Anselm's Nurse Educator Conference for May 2025. This week I am submitting a letter to the editor of the Journal of Clinical Simulation on behalf of the team titled, The Importance of Collaboration to Reduce Harm of Legislative Restrictions in Healthcare and Higher Education. This advocates for collaboration and professional ethics to support ongoing advocacy and access to healthcare and education.
