One warning sign is playing with weapons of any kind, having an obsession over weapons or talking about weapons. These are two examples of warning signs that you should look out for

One way you can prevent gun violence is to tell a grown up like a teacher, parent, or a school counselor. According to the article Preventing School Violence, ‘’ students feel safe to talk to each other and to staff, there is a mutual trust and respect among students and school staff there is on-going dialogue and relationships with family and community member that interact with school’’. This reveals how going to a parent or a trusted adult can help you keep your school safe from violence because reporting it can help an adult prevent it before it happens. Another way you can report a student for posting a threat to shoot up a school is to do it anonymously. In the article Preventing School Shootings ‘’many schools have set up ways to report bullying or signs of violence anonymously’’.  This can be done by email or on a website. Another example is Daniela Charris went to her first protested for George Floyd in New York. She guided and led hundreds of marchers for the protest. School shooting is when an intruder comes into a safe environment and attacks then adults and student in the building, must hide and try their hardest to stay safe. One-way students and teachers can stay safe is to hide in a safe place and keep silent till the shooter is caught or the police come to help. According to the article run, hide, fight active shooter protocol ‘’if the shooter is in close proximity and you cannot evacuate safely, hide in an area out the armed person’s view.’ ‘This shows that it important to stay in a hiding place when a school shooting is happening, staying safe can help you be less of a target to the school shooter and even if you get caught by the shooter there is more of a percentage that hiding while keep you safer then not hiding. Not just hiding can keep you safe, you can also close blinds, turn off lights and remain silent and stay down and do not move.
