My full name is Nur Syakirah binti Mohd Zukri, but while I love being called Syakirah, everyone around me seems to stick with Sya! I'm 18, right at the tail end of my teen years, soaking up every new experience like a sponge. Oh, and I'm number seven in a lineup of eight siblings—so, you can imagine, things are never boring in my family! While I’m navigating this stage of life and studying ARCOM at IIUM Kuantan campus, every moment feels like a new lesson.

During Taaruf Week , new students were introduced to key values for their academic and personal journey, particularly focusing on the Adab (etiquette) of seeking knowledge. The session emphasized three core principles:

Sincerity: Learning should be pursued with pure intentions, not just for personal gain but to benefit both oneself and others, leading to deeper understanding and growth.
Respect: Respect for teachers, peers, and diverse perspectives fosters a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Humility: Staying humble allows students to remain open-minded and recognize that there is always more to learn from others.

Overall, Taaruf Week was an enriching introduction to IIUM, highlighting that the pursuit of knowledge is not just academic but also about personal growth and character development.

In the second week, we studied the Pillars of Islam and the Hadith of Jibril, focusing on four key aspects:

Islam: Submission to Allah through the five pillars, forming the foundation of worship and spiritual growth.
Iman (Faith): Belief in Allah, His angels, books, prophets, and the Day of Judgment, guiding our actions and deepening our relationship with Allah.
Ihsan (Excellence): Striving for excellence in worship and daily actions, with sincerity and compassion toward others.
Signs of the Day of Judgment: A reminder of life's temporary nature, emphasizing accountability and the need for good deeds.

These elements together provide a holistic approach to living a faith-driven, purposeful life.

In the third week, we explored the Pillars of Iman, the core beliefs of a Muslim’s faith, focusing on six components:

Belief in Allah: Central to this belief are three key definitions:
- Rububiyah: Allah’s role as Creator, Sustainer, and Lord of the universe.
- Uluhiyah: Worshipping Allah alone, dedicating all acts of worship solely to Him.
- Asmaul Husna: Understanding and reflecting on Allah’s 99 beautiful names and attributes.
Belief in Angels: Recognizing the role of angels as Allah's messengers, performing duties like delivering revelations and recording deeds.
Belief in Holy Books: Accepting the divine scriptures, including the Qur'an as the final revelation, as moral guides for humanity.

These pillars help deepen our understanding of faith and guide us to live with righteousness and spiritual awareness.
