Having a relationship with each of my students is extremely important to me.

Hands-on activities are a great tool for younger students, so they stay engaged.
Plan ahead, prepare for tomorrow, work with your team.
Leave home problems out of work!!!! The students needs to know that you are going to be there for them, regardless.

I want to make sure I have a good work and life balance, not taking all this work home with me.
I want to have a great relationship with my team and my coworkers. I want that support system.

Assessment is asking if students can apply what I am trying to learn? It is making sure students apply the knowledge.
Planning of lessons and your week is crucial. Break down the standards, see what they actually mean, and apply it to your classroom. Make sure the students are also aware of what your expectations are. The students will be more successful that way.
Check-in on your students, daily.

I want to make sure I know my students on a personal level, making sure they feel comfortable talking to me about things that might be difficult.
I want to have a huge impact on my students. I want them to be able to remember me.

Assessment is observing your students. Making sure you know what the students need and how you can better support them.
Some students will need a lot more help than others, but it's okay. Pairing students together is a great way for them to learn from each other.
Kids are curious, they want to learn more, even when they do not act like it.

I want to do reading groups with my students, working one on one, too.
I think having small groups is important in every group of students, not just the ones who are struggling.

Assessment is an estimation of the quality and ability of a student on that particular day.
There is not an assessment out there that tells you everything you need to know. It is your interpretation.
Have a framework for how you will overall utilize assessment.

I want to remember that no matter what age the child is, I will have an impact, somehow.
I want to remember that reading books for my own learning is a good thing and I need to take advantage of them!
