I expect to learn about how to become an effective and efficient leader while navigating our diverse communities!

I hope this plenary brings me knowledge in empowering civic engagement of our constituents!

Today, I’m looking forward to gaining a deeper understanding of how power operates in society — beyond titles and positions. I want to learn how systems influence decisions, who gets heard, and why certain issues are prioritized. More importantly, I hope to discover how I, as a youth leader and changemaker, can effectively engage in civic spaces, make my voice count, and create lasting impact in my community. I’m excited for real conversations, practical tools, and the chance to connect with fellow advocates who are just as eager to lead change.

I am expecting to learn more about power and how we can use power to empower and serve our people, and communities.

I am also expecting to acquire new knowledge and skills to be a better leader that our people and communities need.

I am also excited to meet, learn, and grow with all of you. 🥹🫶

I expect to learn more strategies in order to be an effective leaders of our respective community. May we share various ideas that will help us uplift or capabilities and of making our constituents more active in every activities that we plan for them.

I expect to learn more about how we can contribute to the change we would like to see in our world. I also expect that we can all help each other in various ways.

I hope after this session, I input a lot of knowledge that I can share and collaborate with my fellow youth leaders in our community.

For this first session I expect to learn about how to become an effective leader in the community, specially how I can function better as a youth for greater impact to the immediate community.

Of course I also think that this opportunity will be a great way for everyone to share their ideas which we can use as benchmarks to provide better services as individuals and through our respective organizations

I expect to learn how decisions are made within communities and who holds power. I hope today's insights go beyond theory and translate into real-life action, especially for civic engagement beyond voting and toward serving (as a minor haha)

After watching Simon Sinek’s Start With Why, I was reminded that power is not something to hold — it’s something to share. Leadership, for me, is about service, not control.

With this session on Power Literacy and Civic Navigation, I expect to better understand how power works in our communities — and how we, as young leaders, can use that power to uplift voices, open doors, and create spaces where people feel they truly belong.

Sana matapos ang session na ito, mas malinaw sa’kin kung paano ko magagamit ang boses ko hindi para manguna, kundi para magsilbi — at maging daan para mas marami pa ang makisangkot at makilahok.

I am looking forward for a valuable and productive session with the speakers, organizers and my fellow participants.

Honestly, I’m looking forward to learning more about how power really works around us, whether in government, communities, or even in our daily lives. I want to better understand how decisions are made and how we, as ordinary citizens, can actually have a say and make a difference.

I also hope today gives us clear and practical ways to navigate civic processes: like where to go, what to do, and how to be heard. I’m excited to gain tools I can use not just for myself, but to help others too.

More than anything, I’m hoping this session feels empowering. I want to leave feeling more aware, more capable, and more connected to others who also care about change.

Let this be a space for learning, reflection, and collaboration toward stronger, more responsive leadership.

That’s why I think learning about power literacy and civic navigation is important, in a sense that it helps us understand how systems work and how we can still find ways to engage, even when the space feels limited.

More importantly, we look forward on how this engagement/social movement can help us to look at the bigger picture, like how power is distributed, who controls access, and how young people can reclaim that space through knowledge and action.

For our first session of the iLACE Program, I expect to understand the goals and purpose of the program. I also hope to learn how we can contribute to the activities and apply what we learn to help our communities. I’m also excited to meet the other fellows and start this learning journey together.

In addition to that rin po, I too look forward to exploring civic navigation. Ideas po kasi remain as just ideas unless we are able to execute them or put them into action—and action po will only happen if we have effective and participative spaces to support us. And how can we create po or access such spaces? We need to learn how to get involved, how to influence and how to connect. That’s exactly why we need to learn civic navigation.

All in all po, I expect this discussion po to empower me with more knowledge and ideas to become a more informed and active citizen. Isang tao po na may alam at may kakayahang mag-advocate for positive change gamit ang nalalaman niya patungkol sa power at civic navigation.

I am expecting to gain knowledge and strategic ways of how to communicate and deliver messages na hindi sya namimisunderstood ng iba. I also want to learn on how to become a good communicator in terms of sharing advocacies and on how to connect people by shared ideas, principles and advocacies.

More on getting the message across to cross boundaries and reach greater things

For tonight's session on Advocacy Communication and Strategic Messaging, I’m expecting to learn how to clearly and effectively communicate causes I care about. Coming from the previous session, where we talked about power literacy and civic navigation, I’m hoping this will help me translate what I’ve learned into action—especially in reaching the right people with the right message.

Bilang isang komunikador ng bayan from UP Mindanao, what I expect in this session is that we can tailor a specific, effective, and productive communication style towards the people. As student leaders, passion and ideas are not enough; we need to learn how to translate them to the masses, and we need to mechanize tactics for better implementation of ideas. This tonight's session is also imperative for us on how to bridge the gap between the ideals of us petty-bourgeoisie and the community. PRO-PEOPLE COMMUNICATION IS IMPERATIVE IN NATION-BUILDING! <3

This session will teach us how to become Huwaran. Huwaran does not just define how well a leader leads his/her members but also how leaders follow their members by listening to them and adapting to their needs and suggestions.

Hello, Mabuhay. I expect to this session na di lang tayo marunong makipag usap ngunit alamin natin ang iba't ibang medium at paano ba ito nakakaapekto sa ating pamumuno. Ma kapangyarihan ang komunikasyon at ito'y nararapat lamang gamitin ng maayos at naayon para sa bawat isa.

Sa patuloy na paglago ng pamamaraan at mga plataporma sa komunikasyon, I am excited to see and adapt all the techniques and learning from everyone, para sa mas makabuluhang komunidad na nagkakaisa.

I believe that to communicate effectively is to bridge the gap between perception and reality.

As an STIer, one of our 5C's is communicator, and this attribute is important to become not just an effective servant-leader, but as a human that shares the same community despite having different dialects and languages. A leader that doesn't have ears but also the heart to see situations in a more humanitarian approach and to exercise empathy toward others.

It is very important po for us to learn po kasi how we could properly communicate ang mga advocacies natin—that includes po knowing kung sino po yung target audience, ano po ang layunin, at paano po natin ito maisasakatuparan effectively. And if it were for me po, hindi sapat na alam lang natin ang ating ipinaglalaban; dapat alam din natin kung paano ito ipaglaban sa paraang malinaw, organisado, at makapangyarihan. Advocacy po is not just about what we say, but how we say it, to whom, and for what outcome.

All in all po, I expect this educational discussion po to empower me with deeper knowledge on how to communicate advocacies effectively and strategically. Within being part of this po I intend to become a more informed and active citizen—isang taong may kakayahang magsalita hindi lang nang may tapang, kundi may direksyon at estratehiya.

I am expecting to learn on how to properly communicate with potential partners para sa ating mga goals in changing the community. Naniniwala ako na ang PARA SA MASA ay MULA RIN SA MASA.

On my end, I am really hoping that thru this session, we'll be able to value the principle of listening to others, at the same time acknowledging their point of views in the midst of our biases.

Considering that we came from diverse backgrounds and different realities, it simply manifest the fact that we have different approaches. With that being said, we can collect different perspectives and ways to solve and address issues, considering that there's no shoe that fits all. So let's try to discover new frameworks and approaches as leaders for the betterment of all. 🌿✨

The importance of collaboration is not about who thinks primarily but the solicited ideas that respects one's views, principles, and beliefs. I believe that a great leader was once a follower who understands that we are all different but can create a difference.

In able to create an inclusive community, it must be grounded with trust and open-mindedness who builds an atmosphere that every voice is heard. Interpersonal skills is also important; communication is vital to deepen understanding to the causes that needed to be addressed.

Kailangan nating matutunan kung paano kilalanin ang iba’t ibang pananaw, bumuo ng pagkakaunawaan, at gumawa ng mga hakbang na may direksyon at pagkakaisa.

All in all po, I expect this discussion po to help me grow as a more collaborative and thoughtful leader—isang tao po na hindi lang basta nangunguna, kundi marunong makinig, magbigay-puwang sa iba, at magdesisyon nang matalino at may malasakit.

Tulad nga po ng sinabi noong Day 1 natin, I also believe that every aspiring leader should know how to share the power they have. This is the concept I would love to deepen today. How can we built and maintain a space where brainstorming and decision-making of everyone is shared and valued.

I expect this session to challenge the traditional view of leadership as a solo responsibility, and instead highlight the value of shared responsibility, open communication, and collective problem-solving. I want to walk away with tools I can apply in real situations, whether in the workplace, the community, or my organization----especially in times when collaboration is more crucial than ever.

More than anything, I expect this session to inspire me to lead with empathy, listen more intentionally, and make space for others to lead with me. Because at the end of the day, I believe leadership is not about doing it all, it’s about doing it together.

For today’s session on Community Organizing and Social Change, I hope to gain fresh perspectives that can strengthen our youth organization, Kikusog Cebu. After the recent midterm election, we officially registered as a local chapter of Kilos Ko Youth, and we are now focused on building our capacity, mobilizing members, and engaging the community more effectively. This session is a valuable opportunity to learn strategies that will help us sustain our momentum and create meaningful, lasting change in our local context—aligning with the advocacies of Kilos Ko Youth and our commitment to serve the Cebuanos.

I am eager for a night filled with collaborative discussions and transformative ideas. Let us seize this opportunity to learn and grow together.

For today's session, I expect to have a discussion on how to have effective community organizing, especially as a nation builder, and learn more about the best practices of the speaker regarding project management to ensure our projects are sustainable and can truly make an impact in the community.

As a young learner and changemaker, this session will be the climax of our leadership program - where all of our thoughts, insights, and perspectives will drive together in crafting messages, projects, and actions deeply rooted on our advocacies towards brighter and more sustianable society! <3

I look forward to see how communities contribute significantly to development and societal progress. They give members a sense of belonging and purpose, and they can take active, supportive, or collaborative roles. Communities can serve important societal functions such as recreation, education, and service.

I’m also looking forward to working with my groupmates to develop our CARE Plan for the presentation on the 16th, ensuring it reflects both our ideas and our community’s needs. 🫶

My expectation is to learn practical ways to unite communities and create positive change as a youth leader, and to know if our movement truly makes an impact on the community.
