In conclusion, being a lecturer is not always about teaching your students. It is also about developing your research skills and dig into the knowledge deeper than you already know. As I have mentioned before, foundation is a place where they can be familiar with the campus’ life and as educators, we must give them as much support that they need. 

                

                As a leading research university in Borneo, it is advisable for new lecturers to apply for a grant. Without doubt, it is very important whenever they want to do a research without worrying about the status of the grant. As a lecturer, you also need to publish journals. It is to ensure the research that has been conducted can be used for further references of other researchers later.

Ultimately, we must always remember that our life is not as easy as we think. There are countless hardships that we need to face to make our life time worth living. As I have mentioned, there are rules to be followed and those are to never give up and use the knowledge to help the society. Our life is worth living if we realize that we have the power to make the world as better place for the next generation. As an educator, I believe that education is the strongest power that ever exists. 

 

One of the things that you need to keep in mind is the structure of the curriculum. In Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), we address foundation as “Centre for Pre-University Studies” or CPUS. It consists two programmes including Physical sciences and Life Sciences. Physical science is a programme that focuses on Physics as a subject while life sciences focuses on Biology as a core subject. Students who have managed to enrol in CPUS should finish its one-year programme before they pursue their study to the next level. CPUS has four core courses under physical science which include Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English. Similarly, life science also has four core courses included within its programme such as Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry and English. There are also few courses that both programmes should take like communication skills, universal values, co-curriculum with credits and computer IT. The admission into these programmes are open to the students who has taken SPM in the previous year and according to the management, most teaching would take place during two semesters which have eighteen weeks per semester. 

 

 

                

 

 

 

 

Success is not cheap at all and to achieve it, you must never give up. In achieving success, you will fail miserably. The greater the success, more failures will go along the way. You will not success unless you fail. People only see failures as the opposite of successes. Well, they are wrong because failures are part of successes. It is all in the process of achieving a goal in life. If you fail, you will clearly see the flaws and the lacking parts of yourselves. This opens up the chances in improving your personality and getting to know yourself better. Imagine if you fail hundreds or thousands of times, there are a lot of improvements that you can make for yourself. Let’s take Jack Ma as an example. He has tried to enrol into Harvard University and been rejected ten times and yet he has never thought of giving up. Now, he owns the biggest online retailer shop which has been internationally known as alibaba.com. Thus, the prices that you need to pay in getting success include tears, sleepless nights, failures and stresses. Unless you give up to your dreams, you will never success.
