They both also had a bill of rights and a constitution.
How were they different both the revolution were different in many ways for example the French revolution mad the American revolution look ten times easier. In some ways it made it look like a baby revolution. Many more lives were lost in the French revolution. Also the Americans succeeded in their revolution and the French did not.
