         <description><![CDATA[<div>What is the average heart rate of students in this class?&nbsp;<br><br>A normal resting heart rate for adults ranges from 60 to 100 beats a minute. Generally, a lower heart rate at rest implies more efficient heart function and better cardiovascular fitness<br><br><br>1.&nbsp; Students will pair up<br>2. Student A will hold the stop watch<br>3. Student B will take their own heart rate by&nbsp; placing two fingers on a&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; pressure point, either at their neck or wrist. (as pictured below)<br>4. Student A will let student 2 know when 30 seconds have passed<br>5. Student B will count how many times they can feel their heart beat in that time<br>6. Multiply that number by 2 and we have your heart beats per minute. (This is the number you will write on the board. )<br>7. Once each pair of students have their respective heart rates they will write them on the board to share with the entire class. This will be the pool of data we are working with.&nbsp;<br>8. Then as a pair, (or individually if you prefer) determine the mean, median, mode. And explain which is most appropriate average for our purposes.&nbsp;<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
