These are places that people can not live because of the environment. It is not safe or healthy to live in places like this because it is not flat ground to live on and get resources from and they will not get as much oxygen as they need.

To modify the land is to change something in the land. The people have to build something so that they can live on the land. Think of construction. To make the modification you are going to need to have construction on the land and that shows you are modifying the land. (EX: When you build a way to block water, when you build a bridge)
To adapt to the land is when you help yourself with the land

People and the environment both change each other. They change to help themselves. They can both impact negatively and positively. They can help them by making the environment healthier, or having the right climate, but they can also change it negatively like pollution, or natural destruction.

They separate males and females, and show the age differences. They normally would go up by 5 so for example 0-4, 5-9, 10-14 all the way up to 100+ They show how the population changed and how it most likely will change. For example if there is a lot of kids and parents the population will most likely increase, where as if the population for kids dropped, then the population would go down and then grow.

For example: I know how the population changes by seeing the birth and death rates. I also understand this because I know how to graph a chart of all the birth and death rates for each.
Stage 1: has high birth rates high death rates, and low population.
Stage 2: High birth rates, falling death rates and the population is growing.
Stage 3/4: Low birth and death rates

Stage 5: Birth rates are lower than death rates,  Population goes down
