The Elizabeth Forward School District transition model has been in place for five years. During that time many different elements have been added to make the transition process stronger and more beneficial to the students and parents of the district. The goal of this evaluation is to determine if the transition process meets the needs of the parents and their children. An evaluation is needed to address the following questions:

Data Collection

Data will be collected from 2 groups of people (parents and the staff). Postcourse reaction surveys will be used after each event/night is completed. Likert Scales and Ranking Surveys will be the primary use for data collection. The questions will be developed to gain information on the overall value of the program from the perspective of both the parents and the teachers. The questions will be used to determine:

- Favorite and least favorite activities.

- Most and least beneficial activities for both parents and students.

- Need for future activities.

- Suggestions for improving the program.

Concerns

- Surveys will be influenced by prior knowledge of the program.

- Attendees will not be present at each of the activities.

- Participants may want to leave once the event is over therefore providing minimal feedback.
