Supported by imovie

Students copy their one sentence that they are perfecting onto paper. They video how they are editing their one sentence. they talk through and demonstrate the choices they make to improve their sentence using better vocab choices and sentence re-structuring. They then video the feedback they get from their peers on their editing and perfecting.

Shared online space for collecting and commenting on resources and ideas - group can work together asynchronously before coming into the tech session.
Shared through a blog/LORE with the rest of the class for comment and peer feedback.

Using Technology in Inquiry - belonging to our place

using google earth to locate our place, Using google maps to zoom into their areas in town - on ipads. modelling using the IWB. Magic Puzzle app to make a jigsaw of the lake for them to reconstruct. Google images to locate paces around the lake, usng street view on google maps. This was at the start of the inquiry to ground them in their area.

A group of students had a friend at home sick, so the used their iPads to Video Conf' with her so they could brain storm and discuss their inquiry topic.

PLD Weebly - staff starting to use this site to blog their ideas and put their strategies/teaching successes etc. up to support and enhance learning.

Weebly is a website that is SOOOO easy to make.

Students using Explain Everything app on iPad (like a whiteboard, but shows writing/drawing in process as a video, can include photo, voice recording etc) to show how they have solved math problem, what strategy they used etc. Requires them to articulate their thinking. Rewindable learning, can then teach others.

I used google sdketchup

We developed teamwork within the classroom through using The Breakers as a platform for learning. We kept in contact via facebook and twitter even going as far as contacting Campbell Live to follow our journey. The children were able to learn authentically through The Breakers - discussing how to celebrate success, handle failure and overcome challenges...Facebook and Twitter were a godsend!

Geography - Google Maps is great for helping students to understand scale and distance. Also provides up to date resources.... they go out of date so quickly on paper!!
