In my neighborhood, Publix, Walmart, Target, CVS, and other necessities still remain open. Unfortunately, most places that are open come with huge lines. It’s pretty hard to get into Whole Foods and get your turn to shop because grocery shops have decided to put a few shoppers at a time. Another negative is that almost everything is run out. Egg and yogurt shelves are literally empty. It is pretty sad to see everything so empty. Usually going to get groceries was so fun. But now it just seems sad. Except for grocery shops, everything else is closed. Aventura Mall, most gyms, pools, and other social places are closed which makes sense. Before my gym closed I really enjoyed working out with my sister or going to the pool to tan. Now me and her usually just work out at home and its really annoying because we don’t have any weights. And I really miss tanning too. Our neighborhood allows us to go on walks with masks as a form of working out but its annoying because they closed all the water fountains so I gave up on that as well. I’ve been really very bored so far during this quarantine. The day it was announced I was so happy and excited for an extra long spring break! But then, days went into weeks, and weeks went into months of quarantine and all I want right now is go back to school. It’s pretty ironic but sadly true. I’ve done almost everything I can. I drew, read, watched TV, cooked, cleaned, filled up my bath tub, talked to my parents, walked my dog (with a mask of course), played with my dog, and just a lot. I’ve run out of ideas now. I really really hope this ends soon because I’m literally bored out of my mind. I was supposed to go to Turkey by the end of last month but I don’t think that’s going to be possible. I was looking forward to it so much and I was going to go to my farm house and just have a great time. After that, I was going to go to Italy to celebrate my dad’s 50th birthday, and my grandmother’s 70th. It was going to be great, but you can only dream, right? Today is the beginning of Ramadan. Ramadan is a Muslim “holiday” (i guess?) that lasts for one month. During Ramadan, you cannot eat until it is 8PM(it usually changes). The fasting starts at 5AM. Ramadan is not about “not eating” it’s all about understanding what homeless, helpless, etc. people are going through. It’s also about letting your organs rest since we eat and let our body work so much. So, since today is officially the beginning of Ramadan, I finally have something to look forward to: eating. Since I really don’t do anything during the day except for homework and working out, I think it would be great if I could be hungry and really test my hunger. I really like Ramadan because I get to know about my religion better. This is probably the only thing thats going to be entertaining for me. I think Ramadan is going to be easier than other years since we are in quarantine. There are no finals, and I don’t have to go to school. Another bonus is that I don’t really see people eat (except for TV) because my whole family is fasting.
