The article introduces the importance of limiting bike theft and two principles of doing the simple signal intervention against bicycle theft, one is related to setting up preventing crimes strategies and the other is in the field of behavioral science. This is closely relevant to the critique article since these these are the reason that it needs to a paper to evaluate solutions. Also, this article also demonstrates the effectiveness of setting up such a study and it also considers other factors affecting the result, such as the number of campus theft is increasing, which makes this article reliable for the critique paper to refer to. So this source can be used in evaluating the solution of this problem, such as using GPS intervention (refer to the Daily Illini )and discussing the background of the paper.

According to the article, one solution of posting "posters with eyes" near the bicycle parking lot will reduce the reported number of thefts around target area, and this could be useful when writing one solution for the bike theft problem since they overlapped each other: this solution has high credibility since it has a well-functioning method, a satisfactory outcome for reducing the number of thefts, and is also practical when putting in use. This article is relevant and could be used in writing one solution of the bike problem.
