Computer model is the creation of a model of a real system in order to study the behaviour of the system. It is based on mathematical representations.

The advantages of computer models:
- Can save money
- Find a solution more quickly
- Can be considerably safer

1. Less expensive
2. safer to run a computer model on many occasions
3. easier to try out various scenarios in advance
4. impossible to try out some tasks in real life
5. Time scales are reduced by doing a computer model rather than the real thing

How would the system work in the real life?
1. The sensors gather the data by counting the number of the vehicles at the junction of the road.
2. The data sent to a control box or a computer and the gathered data will be compared to data stored in system.
3. The control box or computer will 'decides' what action needs to be taken.
4. At the end, the signals will be sent out to the traffic lights to change their timing if necessary
