When someone dies in the Philippines, you hold a wake for about 5 to 7 days. Proper attire for a wake and funeral is dark, dull, or white clothes. Close family members would be seen wearing wither black or white clothing. This piece of information was learned when I was looking through a bunch of old photos for a photo of my grandpa, and I found pictures of my uncle's funeral. I noticed that several people were wearing white, so I decided to look it up because I was curious why we did that. I also learned that in Filipino Funerals, the priest blesses the body, and leaves the casket open for people who want to touch/kiss the body.
