Research the Observation from SLA that matches the number you were assigned. Post a brief description of the observation with an appropriate GIF and be prepared to share (written or verbally) how you might incorporate this insight into your own language learning journey. Finally, as a class, we'll determine which of the 5 steps of interaction best matches your SLA observation, there may be more than one!

In order to learn a language, you need to hear, and see, and be surrounded by that language in a meaningful way, immersed in it even! If your environment is void of input, or limited in the variety of input, your ability to progress in the language will be limited.

Now that I know how important input is, I will make every effort to surround myself with opportunities to see, listen, and experience my target language - maybe by visiting a market where I can read labels, hear the spoken language, and hear music on the speakers. In my free time, I will watch movies or listen to podcasts in target language, but with intention so that input becomes intake. Overall, I will make receiving input a natural part of my every day life.

Frequency has its limits:

Sometimes frequency alone won't help you learn a concept; you'll need to interact with it in a meaningful way before you learn it. In other words, you might need more than repetition for a concept to "click".

I would utilize this observation by employing various study techniques in regards to the concept. So not just flashcards, but also creating a story using this concept, or utilizing it in conversation.

You'll likely struggle with some aspects and excel in others. Don't let the fact that some aspects of language acquisition come slower or harder than others deter you. Keep going and you'll get there in the end!

The logical component of SLA acquisition observations that says our brains start making connections based on a concept of universal grammar. Our brains pickup unconsciously on certain aspects of languages. Similar how young children learn their first language's grammar structures without being directly taught.
For students this means even if you are strong on the context or implicit aspects, you still need to explore the explicit aspects but more importantly it does not mean that you can not figure out something you directly have studied (given a certain level of input).

Some more stuff about want. Eventually, through time, repetition and feedback, you'll learn how to say "I want something to eat."
