I like how coaching can be made specific to each individual rather than generic cpd for all. The freedom for the coach and coachee to direct the focus.

Staff have used the time to be reflective and have genuinely engaged with the idea of improving their practice. There has also been strong links with their PGG which shows a consistent approach

Good to see coachee at their best during observations. It also gives a good opportunity to have in length discussions about the focus for CPD. The only problem is the time, struggle to find time to go and observe, specially if the cache is not teaching the subject you want to observe them with as the focus could be based around specific students.

I found it supportive and collaborative rather than punitive and dictatorial as has been in other places I’ve worked. Having a subject expert whom I respect gave validity to the process. I also found that during the feedback we were able to discuss other departmental issues and other maths related things. Without the formal meeting we probably wouldn’t find time to do this. Conor
