The families decide to escape from the war and go to a safe place and to begin a new life.
It is hard to leave your favorite place (your home), family, memories and neghborhood, but sometimes there are situations and circumstances that compel you to leave your home.
In the two stories they move to another country in order to escape from the war, and in the end of the two stories, they start a new life in a safe place. 
These two stories remind me of the poor Syrian children and their parents who do not have a home to live. They are looking for food, warmth, comfort and a safe place.
