I will use a Kahoot in my classroom after teaching about the music staff and the notes on it. There will be an image of a specific note on the staff and the students will identify what the name of the note is. This will be used to assess the students' understanding of the staff and the identification of each note.

Playing Test

I will have them sing or play a few measures of each piece that was performed, to make sure they know their part and the other aspects that we worked on musically. I will have the students record themselves singing or playing their part in the piece and submit it electronically. This will assess the students' ability to retain the notes and rhythms that they learned in class, and their ability to sing or play them on their own.

Sectional Test

I will use a sectional test in class and have each section (for example, the soprano section) sing their part in a specific piece. This will assess their ability as a group to be able to sing or play the right notes and rhythms, and also their ability to perform as a group and blend so it sounds like one voice.

Self Grading

I will use a self grading example in class after we have finished learning a piece of music. I will record the choir or band performing the song in class, then have them listen to it. They will give feedback about what they think they did will, and also what they might need to work on. This will assess the group's ability to listen to music and find critiques and successes in it.

I will use a quiz after teaching a music theory lesson. I will have the students take the quiz during class. It will be fewer than ten questions and it will help me gage where the students are and what they've understood. It will also help me to see if there is anything that I need to go over again.

Presentation

The students will have twenty minutes to find five to ten things about the composer to present to the class. This will help the students to learn about famous composers and learn to work with other people in a group.

They will also make connections to how it relates to music today. This will help assess the students' ability to make connections concerning music today and music years ago.

I will give the students a worksheet that they will have to complete for the next class. It will be a music theory topic and the worksheet should only take them 10-15 minutes. This will help me to see the students' progress when it comes to music theory and what aspects they are still struggling with.

They will look for the songs that will be performed, come up with a theme, find costumes, and create a design for the stage. This will help the students to use what they've learned and be able to be creative to create a story set to music.
