This class was awesome! I love that we got to see what we are learning "in person" instead of a lecture. My favorite thing I heard in the class was the phrase "Are you right?" which Ms. Bowlin used repeatedly.

I missed the first class where we met in person, but I thought using Zoom on the second class meeting was awesome! It was very easy to see Ms. Bowlin's instruction and the students did a great job. I learned many things, but one thing that stuck with me is that students can think a word is totally different if it starts with a lowercase or uppercase letter. This is something simple that teachers can overlook and not notice but students really can struggle with this.

I really enjoyed our class! I learned how to use the Zoom program and I thought it was very useful. I like the idea of this technology because it can be very helpful to communicate with others and learn. I liked how she would have sayings of encouragement for her students to keep them motivated and focused. For example, she would always ask the students "Are you right?" and this is great in order for the students to think about what they have read and reflect. I think it is also very important for students to use context clues and pictures while they are reading to help decipher text. I loved the way Alexandra read the word "flowerpot" because she could have easily said "pot." She took the time to look at her picture and sound out her word.
