Each with their unique qualities to assist with our goals here in NZ. I myself love many different colours, but I’m particularly passionate about the smokey colours, as I love the way the coats glamour and shine in the sun. I love strong faces, square muzzles with medium set yes and very large ears, long bodies and a huge tail. So when I’m thinking of pairing two adults, I consider what each individual would contribute to the balance. A coon should definitely be large with an incredible WOW factor, anybody that says otherwise is misleading you, it’s a characteristic of the breed, so I am selective in my breeding program to ensure size is a factor. My breeding girls demonstrate this in EVERY way. They are large in length and stature, with both great boning and overall length generally presenting 7-10 kgs. The boys I select are based on size and boning, they all have presence and will make you gasp!
