The Shawshank Redemption script is written in a 12 point courier font. Courier is a popular choice of font because it is a fixed pitch font and because scripts tend to follow one minute of screenplay per page, having equal spacing between letters is advantageous. Most film scripts are in 12 point courier new for this exact reason however, some writers only write in a Courier font for reassurance as it has been known for directors and producers to not even look at a script for it was not in a Courier font.

The first thing I noticed was that the majority of Dialog exchanged between prisoners, and between the prisoners and prison guards were very brief and short-lived with the exception of Red and Andy having the odd in-depth conversation about their lives.
