The Chen is a beautiful economical piece of architecture that supports our community. What kind of psychopath wants to knock it down to rubble? This precious building helps our economy by making money off tourists who want to have a vacation in Melbourne. It has 100 air conditioned rooms with wifi, 24 hour reception and a swimming pool. It also cost 330 million dollars to build it. Who could resist the hypnotic temptation of the Chen Building. Henceforth, only someone truely psychotic would ever think of demolishing this economy boosting hotel.

The Chen should not be demolished. It costed $330 000 000 dollars to build, so why should we get rid of it now? It also gives 120 people jobs, and if we demolished it, then we would waste money, time, jobs and land. Do you think this is necessary? To rid people of their jobs would not help society in anyway. We have got to think about people’s jobs here. As it is a hotel, tourists would probably visit the city but stay at the Chen. Demolishing the Chen means demolishing tourism industry. All in all, demolishing the Chen would be bad not only for tourism, but for society and people’s jobs.

Why the Chen should be demolished?

The effect from the housing of the Chen (re phrase) is greatly affecting the traffic around Box Hill. The hotel Chen, has been shown to be the tallest building in the eastern suburb, housing up to 380 people. The man who was the brains behind this said that it was his intention to build the highest building in the Eastern suburbs. The more people, the more transport, the more traffic.(fragment, no verb) This dramatic increase in Box Hill’s already chaotic ‘mess of traffic’, would not benefit society. The congestion caused by the overload of people from this eyesore, makes it difficult for everyday day people to go about their business. Would you like to live in this overcrowded environment? Consequently, the hotel Chen is not benefitting the Box Hill society in the area of traffic.

For:
Wearing a variety of casual clothing during one’s schooling leaves vulnerable those of different race, religion, or sexual orientation. Lately bullying has become a major issue through advancements in online technology and media. In fact, 43% of Australian children have been bullied online according to dosomething.org. A large margin of these cases are due to individuals sexual orientation or culture, which becomes relevant and evident through one’s fashion choice. If casual clothes become permitted it will only result in an increase of harassment cases.

Against:

In a modern world where individualism and uniqueness is continually encouraged it seems absurd that schools support conformity through outdated uninforms. The Australian Curriculum specifically states that children should be taught “to accept a diverse society”, counterintuitively almost all schools (both public, catholic and independent) encourage, if not hold compulsory, school uniforms. The Australian education policy essentially silences individuality in place for compliance and obedience, despite declarations in contradiction.

Do you want to pay a lot of money just for school uniforms? CGS school uniforms can cost a lot since it’s a private school, a blazer costs $182, that’s a lot compared to primary school. You could buy a week worth of groceries for the family with that money. Imagine wasting all that money that could have been used to buy something useful. Imagine how frustrating it would be if you’ve bought all that school gear, but then your child is kicked out of the school, you would have to buy all new gear for the next school. Plus the amount to go to school is the amount to buy a car, which some people would dread. At least don’t go to a school that’s much more expensive. Do you want to pay a lot of money just for school uniforms?

You have great ideas but they are jumbled. Choose one point and write a TEEL paragraph about it.
More and more sewage plants are appearing in residential areas. Would you like to live near one? Sewage plants should not be built near residential areas where the majority of people in Melbourne live. As the population keeps growing rapidly by 6.6% in the past year in Melbourne residential areas, there is high demand for sewage facilities to be built to process the amount of waste produced by the growing society. These facilities will highly pollute the nearby environment and air quality of the area. Think about this. Sewage plants will also affect and destroy the beautiful views of the suburb, which will highly reduce the value of the area. why do people not realize the severity of this problem? Sewage plants should definitely be built far away from residential areas for the health of the society and the value of the suburb.

Do you really think that people would want to wear school uniforms? Many parents spend hundreds of dollars just to get clothes for the school year. Children are also forced to wear unnecessary pieces of clothing such as ties. It’s not just school uniform, parents are also forced to buy other pieces of clothing such as, sports uniform and swim gear. This decision by schools has created a huge backlash from every student, parent and citizen. Making people angry, sad and feeling broke. It also affects the family in the real world because the parents would have spent most of their money on their child’s school uniform so that they have very little money to purchase other things. It also means that they would not have the money to spend on things such as holidays. The price of the school uniforms is too overpriced for example, I bought a footy Guernsey for around eighty dollars. That money could have been spent for something like food or other supplies. To sum it all up, schools should NOT enforce school uniforms.

Many students and members of the public say that students should not have to wear a school uniform. 71.12% percent of students say they want to dress the way they please, and their point is valid. Forcing students to wear school uniforms revokes their right to express themselves through what they wear because wearing school uniforms limit there the way they can portray there image and might be expressing a different one. These students need to express themselves so they can find the wright group of friends for them and school uniforms prevent this. Furthermore, parents will not have to spend ridiculous amounts of money on school uniforms for their student. Many parents say that they would spend more money if their children wore a school uniform so getting rid of them would cut done the cost. This proves that it is better for everyone and students can express themselves.
