         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Stamp Act of 1765 was a tax imposed on <strong>B</strong>ritish colonies in America. The tax was on paper materials and the act also required that many printed materials in the colonies be produced on stamped paper produced in London, carrying an embossed revenue stamp. British colonists were very unhappy with the act and believed it infringed on their rights as British citizens.</div>]]></description>
