So, for several minutes he hung there slowly dying while all those people watched. "Behind me, I heard the same man asking: 'For God's sake, where is God?' And from within me, I heard a voice answer: 'Where He is? This is where—hanging here from this gallows… ' "

This quote shows a change within the main character. In the beginning of the book he was all about religion and learning about it; and now after seeing a small boy hang he lost faith in his religion

The Jews didn't believe that Hitler or anyone at that could kill them off. They were sent to camps and were forced to work. Children had to see their parents die and vis versa. The Nazi Party and who ever believed that killing the Jewish people off was a good thing is real inhumane. All people are equal no one is better than the other. People are made differently but that doesn't mean to kill them because they don't look a certain way or they are tall or pretty. We were made to have a certain purpose on this Earth and killing off people isn't one of the purposes.
