On this day, I was born on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This was the same island my mom grew up on and that I lived in for about two months before we moved to New Jersey to join my dad who was stationed there.

In October, my mom and I flew up to New Jersey to join my dad who was stationed there for the Air Force. My mom applied and was accepted into Rutgers and the next month they would get married. When I was born, my parents looked out for me and at least one of them were always there for me. This allowed me to build up a certain amount of trust, since I was reassured that my parents were generally there to support me. This feeling of safety allowed me to branch out and put into practice my associative learning.

I became the oldest sibling on this day when my sister was born. I was three years old at the time, and was really excited to have her in the family. By having parents who were always there for me, I was able to build a sense of autonomy and was more willing to try new things because I felt safer. This allowed me to feel more confident in beginning to do some things by myself.

We moved overseas when I was 4 years. Living in Germany was one of my favorite times of my life. We traveled all over Europe and I got to learn phrases from many different languages. Getting exposed to so many languages was what likely got me so interested in learning different languages. During my preschool years, I definitely developed a sense of guilt as a child since I tended to be worried about not succeeding and making mistakes whether it was making mistakes in homework or playing.

I started fourth grade at a private Christian school after my father retired from the military. Since we were unable to go to Vogelweh Elementary, the on-base school for DOD children, for a year, my parents found a new school, that was also closer to our neighborhood but was off-base. I didn’t use to get the best grades during elementary school so I often felt less intelligent than most of my other peers, especially when it came to math. Fourth grade was probably the better year in terms of grades for me, since I went to a new school where their smaller class sizes allowed me to get more time to work with the teacher and understand what I was learning. My grades didn’t start to pull up again after 4th grade until I got to 6th grade when I was put into honors classes.

My family and I moved back to the US due to a family emergency. During this time, I got to meet some cousins that I had only learned existed just a few months prior and I got to reacquaint myself with some of my other cousins who I had not seen or talked to in many years. This lack of communication was because of the significant time differences between the US and Germany.

My first day at Western Branch Middle School. I met my friend Camille and was shown around the 6th grade wing. My councillor, Ms. Moore, put me in Honors English and Civics and Economics, and later in the year, my science teacher would recommend me for Honors Science 6. I also finished up technology as my elective that quarter, and got ready to move to foreign language.

This year definitely changed me as we were put into lock down and COVID-19 was blasted in the news and many people feared for their lives. The ironic thing was, while most people were freaking out about the pandemic and even I was a bit worried, I was actually enjoying my two weeks off of school. I found Overdrive and downloaded the free app so I could read books online since the library soon became off limits. While my mom was working at home and getting involved in analyzing the data from the numerous cases that presented themselves during the pandemic, I often laid down on the futon close to her desk and read my book.

I didn't learn about the death of George Floyd until a few months later, but I remembered seeing my mom watch part of the lawsuit. That was the first time I got to see Ben Crump and I became even more interested in civil rights law. I had always loved history as a kid and was super interested in the various cultures housed in the US, as well as the fights to gain rights in the States. After being introduced to this side of America by learning about the ongoing police brutality and the deaths of Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia, I became invested in learning about history and social justice.

My grandfather bought Children of Blood and Bone for me and later the 1619 Project by Nikole Hannah-Jones. Both tackled the issues of discrimination and police brutality. The 1619 Project especially was a fascinating book that looked into racial discrimination, police brutality, intersectionality, and a whole host of detailed topics about Black history. I loved the book and would highly recommend it, especially if you want to understand Black history on a deeper level.

Today I started one other projects in AP Statistics and finished up another AP Biology project during school. I am also staying on alert to see if I have track practice after school is over or if the rain will cause practice to be cancelled. I feel kind of tired now but also relieved after finishing both AP tests last week and having productive but also busy week. Throughout my teenage years, I have been experimenting with different identities and trying to find out who I am as a person. I tried doing track and field hockey and realized that I preferred to run track. I also learned that I was number 18th in my overall grade at Western Branch with my GPA. I’m still trying to determine who I am as a person, but I realized that there isn’t any rush since I still have one more year of high school and college in the future to figure that out.

I'll turn 24 years old! I plan to go on a trip visiting various Caribbean islands and some South and Central American countries, hopefully practicing my Spanish in those nations. Then after my vacation, it will soon be back to work for me.

I get to celebrate Christmas with my family and go to church to celebrate Jesus. One of my favorite things about Christmas and Easter for me is how decorated and beautiful my church often looks. At some point during my Christmas break, I'll meet someone special.

On this day, I'll get married and go on a trip back home to the Virgin Islands. If I have a decent amount of money saved up, I'll likely visit Puerto Rico again, and go to the Mediterranean areas. I plan to meet someone who I feel comfortable being around and is like a best friend to me, and eventually get married. I also intend to continue establishing a close relationship with my family.

I adopt a child, reaching my next milestone in life. I hope to provide a good shelter and life to the child and become a positive role model that the kid could look up to. I also hoped to instill good morals and hope that raising the child will help to move the world one step closer to peace.

I plan to retire during this month and focus on being with my family, reading, writing, and travelling around the world. I want to be able to finally rest since I have been working hard all of my life. I was long ready to retire, and since I'm pretty good about saving money, I feel certain that I will retire with good benefits and a nice retirement fund. From the time I start working to when I retire, I plan to be a hardworking member of society and help to bring money into the economy. I also plan to build a close relationship with my family and help raise them to be good people who have respect for human life.

I would die at the age of 101, one day after my birthday (because I don't feel like dying on my birthday). I hope to pass away peacefully in my sleep and live a good and fulfilling life. If I passed away at night, it would be very fitting since I was born early in the morning. I would enter the world in the morning and leave it at night. I’m going to be more on the integrity side and feel like I lived a successful life. Helping people to retain their rights, travelling, and encouraging people to be active members in society and to make sure that discrimination anywhere is decreased.
