•World Ozone Day, is marked to remind individuals and governments about the importance of the ozone layer to our survival on Earth. The ozone layer helps sustain life on Earth by creating a fragile shield of gaseous protection around the planet that protects it from the harmful rays of the Sun.
• The theme for this year World Ozone Day is “Ozone for life: 35 years of ozone layer protection”. Regularly get your electric appliances serviced and discard appliances that have been in use for from that 10/15 years as they emit more ozone depleting substances (ODS).

Now comes the important question , why do we as students celebrate the world Ozone Day ? 
Well , this is to spread awareness among the students about how crucial the ozone shield is for the life on Earth, its gradual depletion and the need to search for possible solutions to preserve it.
Now , how is the ozone made ?
Stratospheric ozone is formed naturally through the interaction of solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation with molecular oxygen (O2). The "ozone layer," approximately 6 through 30 miles above the Earth's surface, reduces the amount of harmful UV radiation reaching the Earth's surface.
Lets save the ozone layer of Earth , Its high time now!

The ozone layer is the common term for the high concentration of ozone that is found in the stratosphere around 15–30km above the earth's surface. It covers the entire planet and protects life on earth by absorbing harmful ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation from the sun. The ozone layer is getting thinner day by day due to which it won't be able to protect us.
Ozone layer is getting depleted at the higher levels of the atmosphere due to effect of chlorofluorocarbons CFCs which are used as refrigerants and in fire extinguishers.
