Our Community School Site Coordinator, Angelia Johnson, is AWESOME!

We have a clothing closet, a food pantry (we give every student a bag of food every Tuesday to take home and share with their families), we have a Community Cafe each semester and we have various other events and activities throughout the school year to engage the community and families. We have over a dozen active partners as a result of Angelia's efforts! 😊

We have been working hard toward becoming a community school, and are officially becoming one this year. Here are a few of our accomplishments over the past year:

-Partnership with Brandon House to provide afterschool and summer care programs for students in the performing arts.

-Partnerships with CALS BeMighty and FoodCorps for afterschool Garden Club and community garden activities.

-Successfully lobbied the City of Little Rock Parks & Rec. Dept. to open an entrance to Reservoir Park from Reservoir Rd, close to the school and nearby apartment complexes, to add additional access to recreational opportunities.
