3.Are new themes introduced? How?

In this dialogue, a new theme is introduced: the significance of the number 11. This theme is introduced through the characters' discussion of the time (11 minutes past 11) and their recognition that it may have some deeper meaning. The characters' uncertainty about the significance of this number creates a sense of mystery and unease, setting the stage for further exploration of this theme as the story progresses.

The introduction of this theme also highlights another broader theme that is present throughout the book: the idea that there are forces at work in the world that are beyond human understanding and control. The characters' realization that the time 11 minutes past 11 may be significant is a reminder of this larger theme, and serves to reinforce the idea that there are mysterious and powerful forces at play in the world of "Good Omens".

5.Choose one dialogue from the chapters - how does the dialogue move the story forward? How do the characters say these words?

"11 minutes past 11."

"What?"

"It is 11 minutes past 11."

"And?"

"And it's significant."

"Is it?"

"Yes. I think so."

"What do you think it signifies?"

"I don't know. But it's 11 minutes past 11."

This dialogue takes place between the characters of Adam and Anathema, and it serves to establish the significance of the number 11 in the events of the story. The dialogue is delivered in a tense and slightly fearful tone, reflecting the characters growing sense of unease about the events that are unfolding around them. The phrase "11 minutes past 11" helps to drive home the idea that this is a significant moment, and the characters questions and responses reveal their growing sense of confusion and uncertainty. Overall, this dialogue advances the story by building suspense and creating a sense of mystery around the significance of the number 11.

“Adam didn't often listen, but he spent the most enthralling twenty minutes of his life, or at least of his life that day. No one in the Young household so much as touched wood or threw salt over their shoulder. The only nod in the direction of the supernatural was a half-hearted pretense, when Adam had been younger, that Father Christmas came down the chimney.”

This paragraph explains Adams attitude at home. He has been described as a child who has drowned in his thoughts without much attention to the world around him, does not listen often, behaves as if he had grown up and already understands when someone wants to trick him or say something wrong.
