Hamish Fulton (born 1946) is a British walking artist. Since 1972 he has only made works based on the experience of walks. He translates his walks into a variety of media, including photography, illustrations, and wall texts. Since 1994 he has begun practicing group walks. Fulton argues that 'walking is an artform in its own right' and argues for wider acknowledgement of walking art. Hamish Fulton is represented in London by Maureen Paley.

We had to write up an exercise where we had to sit in silence, and listen to our surroundings for 2 minutes, and then write up what we heard.
Mine were:

Pens

Heater

Chairs rolling

My own coughing

Phones vibrating

Afterwards we turned our lists into free-form poems. As these were free-form, we didn't need a structure or a rhyme, but I had Lose Yourself by Eminem stuck in my head so I couldn't think of any ideas without following that structure.

Chairs are rolling.
Can't hold back coughing.
<del>Heaters are lit,
Can't rhyme for shit.</del>
Lost my breath speed walking to class,
Hearing my own voice makes me feel like an ass.
