Music videos you might see nowadays, often consists of a lot of camera movement, especially surrounding the artist themselves. We decided to use quite a few close ups of the artists as they sang, allowing a connection between the audience and the artists. 

The artist was seen to be playing the guitar whilst singing, and so we tracked the artist (me) as they were walking down the canal, playing said guitar.

For this very reason, we chose Regents Canal as the main area to film in. The majority of the music video was shots of the artist either playing the guitar, or walking down the canal bank whilst singing.

Staying in touch with whole nature aspect, our second idea revolved around the use of greenary, and so we decided to use Highbury Fields,  Gasholder Park and Granary Square stairs. All 3 of these locations had grass areas, in which we could film. 

In terms of the costume, we decided to have a different costume for each location. After doing some research on the typical items of clothing within Indie music vides, we discovered that chequered shirts were extremely popular. Having this in mind, we chose to put the artist in red and blue chequered shirt whilst in the Regents Canal location.

 For the Gasholder Park and Granary Square location, we decided to put the artist in a green and navy chequered shirt, covered with a navy jacket. We felt that fit with the theme extremely well also.

Finally, in Highbury fields We wanted our artist to stand out, and so we decided that bright clothing, such as the yellow jumper we got the artist to wear, was appropriate. We chose him as his music can be placed in the genre of Indie, which is the genre we were going for. Upon looking at a couple of Ed's music videos we noticed an ongoing theme, he played the guitar whilst singing. Having this information, we too decided to incorporate shots of the artist playing the guitar. I feel it added a needed essence to an indie genre music video, as a main convention of said genre is live music.

Creators will often make a particular edit within the music video, typically with the purpose to make the music video memorable for the audience watching.

The signature edit we decided to use for our music video was at 2:00. We transitioned from one location to the next, through tilting the camera upwards towards the sky, and back down again, now in the new location.

For example, the above video, George Ezra - Barcelona, was one of music video we decided to take our inspiration from. The use of bright colours (yellows) that you can see in the thumbnail, is one of the main aspects we decided to 'respond' to.

The setting of this specific music video, inspired us to chose our settings. We decided to go for more a greenery background, much like the Barcelona one.We noticed that the artist, George, was playing the guitar throughout, something we noticed in a lot of the music videos we researched. This gave use even more confidence in the use of the guitar within our own video.

This is carried out through the use of base tracks. For our video, we had the following base tracks; 7 for Gasholder Park, 5 for Regents Canal, 3 for Highbury Fields and 3 for Granary Squares.
