Fresh start

It was mid September and I arrived in Brighton, a strange yet fresh place for me. It was a fresh start, and I was excited about it. For the first few months it was actually quite hard on me because I dont really really know anyone here and it took me a while to make some good friends. Occasionally I will feel homesick and I would want to leave the Uk and go back but after a while I kind of settled in and I enjoyed more and more of Brighton and this Uni.

How to adapt in Brighton

I started to join more society that are related to my interest for example Poker society and football. Ive met a lot nice friends there and i started to feel more comfortable about this place. Furthermore, i tried to explore more of Uk with my friends and I slowly like this place more and more.

What have i learnt in my foundation year

During my Foundation year, I developed a strong academic and practical skill set through Entrepreneurship, Statistics , Extended Project, and People, Culture & Society. In Entrepreneurship, I learned about business planning and market analysis etc... equipping me with essential startup skills. Statistics enhanced my data interpretation, probability, and I also learned how to utilise excel. The Extended Project refined my independent research, critical thinking, and project management abilities. Meanwhile, People, Culture & Society deepened my understanding of social dynamics, cultural influences, and ethical considerations in business and research. Together, these subjects strengthened my analytical, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills, preparing me for higher education and professional challenges in business and social sciences.

The weirdest thing i have seen in Brighton

Brighton is full of quirky moments, but the weirdest thing I’ve witnessed was a , juggling flaming torches while blasting opera music from a speaker strapped to his back all at 9 a.m. on a Tuesday. Around him, a crowd of stoned teenagers cheered a hommeless man danced like no one aws watching, and a seagull swooped down to steal a sausage roll from someone’s hands. It was chaos, but somehow… totally normal for Brighton. Between the public weed smoking, spontaneous street performances, and seagull muggings, this city never fails to surprise me.
