3 Things I Learned
- Coding is a new and innovative field that needs to be taught in schools and the most important thing to do is to be confident
- There are fields in coding, computer science and lots of other things that explore deeper and deeper into the field of computers
- Just like in regular teaching, when getting students to code always be a few steps ahead of students so that you can predict what problems they may encounter so that you can know how to handle it
2 Things to Share
- Co.org helps students get their feet wet in coding by helping them participate in the day of code
- Hopscotch is a great program that allows students to build up on their coding knowledge as they go.

3 Things I Learned
- The new Chromebooks that are coming out are going to have a stylist feature, a world facing camera, and the ability to use android apps (toontastic) on the computer
- Adobe is releasing a list of free apps for these computers as well so that students can have access to a number of new ways to express their creativity and what they have learned
- Instead of having just the teacher view a student project, GoogleSites can allow students to view other classmates projects so that they can comment and connect with what their classmates did instead of just comparing how they approached the project to themselves or teacher given examples. Student portfolios is another great use of GoogleSites
2 Things to Share
-#LearnaLanguage is a cool resource to help kids learn a different language on YouTube
- GoogleSites is an awesome way to build a website in which you can embed videos, link to a google calendar, and have a lot more freedom than the older version
1 Thing to Try
- Use the stylist feature on new Chromebooks in order for students to create a visual diagram for different science projects, like drawing different parts of body systems
