Historians believe India to be the largest of the four ancient civilizations (China, Egypt, and Tigris and Euphrates civilizations). The reason these Indian cities became so big was because around 50 to 60 million years ago the Himalayan and Hindu Kush mountains. These mountains were used like a natural wall and kept most invaders out leaving the cities to just grow and be safe.
