I found that how we focus on things isn't the same around the world intriguing. Those in Japan for example focus on the background around them while westerners focus on one object. So to appeal to a Japanese audience I would have to put the object that was to be focused in the background not the front.

https://www.affectivedesign.org/archives/133

https://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ1127519.pdf

I found out on one of the pages that with are increase of Demographic populations and new immigrants that are coming here that visuals are very important to communicate. Another thing I found is graphic design is another way of communicating with others. Knowing this graphic designers have found ways to communicate with simple designs and illustrations to talk to people out of the united states.
https://1stwebdesigner.com/graphic-design-examples/
https://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ1127519.pdf

What I have noticed when reading the following articles is that certain cultures have different attractions when it comes to graphic design. In latin america street art is huge. Showing their culture and creativity on there local streets. The chinese culture keeps their art on the traditional side. Being very cultural. Graphic Design Examples Worldwide: How Nationality Reflects in Artwork
Graphic design is growing everyday and spreading different ideas is what makes graphic design such a beautiful thing.

I see it as we are looking into the psychology of other cultures. I say that because the first discussed what the focus points are different for each region. For example, Americas tend to group similar things together, while japan looks for the emotion. And when looking at the design pieces on the second source you can really see that come to light.

https://www.pmg.com/blog/diversity-in-design/
https://www.affectivedesign.org/archives/133

I found both of these websites interesting that other cultures look at things so differently. In the second website the stated that people of Japan look into the eyes first for emotional cues and people to the west will look at the mouth of a person. In the top website it says that having people with many cultures working in graphic design can help the company understand how to promote product or address things that wont be conflicting to that culture.

The first website taught me how, in the East, the Japanese viewed into the eyes of the emotional cues! To the West, the Americans looked at designs mainly towards the mouth!

Now the second website talks about how different continents and their countries use graphic design for tradition! Latin America, for example, uses bold colors and constructing elements for their love of partying and celebration!

I really enjoyed looking at the article that sowed how different culture reflects in their artwork. I loved seeing how different art can be from culture to culture but still be modern and with the current trend. The part where they talked about China it was cool to see really traditional art presented in a modern and more relatable way.

After reviewing the sites, I think my biggest take away is that every culture has a different approach to how they brand and the methodologies behind their design.

While reading this it occurred to me that there is an industry that really needs to focus on multiculturalism when creating imagery, the NHTSA, in their creation of road signs. Being a blended country, filled with different cultures, these signs must be created to be interpreted across language barriers.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/research-data/human-factors
