         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Treaty of Paris was signed yesterday&nbsp; between the British and the new United states of America.&nbsp; The Americans sent over 5 men to negotiate the treaty;&nbsp; John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, and Henry Laurens.&nbsp; David Heartly and Richard Oswald.&nbsp; Many things were&nbsp; laid out in&nbsp; the treaty,&nbsp; such as&nbsp;<br>1. The United States are now independent.<br>2. Its boundaries are the Mississippi River on the west, Canada<br>on the north, and Spanish Florida on the south.<br>3. The United States have received the right to fish off Canada’s Atlantic Coast, near Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.<br>4. Both sides will repay debts it owes the other.<br>5. We&nbsp; will return any enslaved persons we have captured.<br>6. Their Congress will recommend that the states return any property they had seized from Loyal colonists</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One colonist sent over a letter about the treaty to. He said " The treaty will be a disaster. They are recommending to give us our land back that we own fair in square. I have lost all of my money to these new Americans. I used to be rich but now I'm a poor man. I just wish" The letter ended here. The bottom appeared&nbsp;to  be ripped off.</div>]]></description>
