In my own words, multiples are the numbers you get when you multiply a certain number by whole numbers. For example, if you take the number 3, its multiples are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and so on. You get these by multiplying 3 by 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. Multiples are often used in math when working with things like skip counting, finding common multiples between numbers, or solving word problems involving repeated groups.

In other words, for the quantities a and b, it can be said that b is a multiple of a if b = na for some integer n, which is called the multiplier.
