You would also need the right topic, so it's not a "one-size fits all" tool, it has to be thoughtfully adapted, so it might be used sparingly. 

Knowing the strengths, challenges and interests of your students should be something considered as well. Students who enjoy STEM classes will likely enjoy the activity, but students more inclined to the Humanities may not.
