Assault Weapons Ban of 2018

- I think this bill should be passed because weapons are very dangerous. I feel that weapons should only be in the hands of police officers, FBI, and people that are professionally trained to own a weapon. There should be a long and hard process and training for someone to own a weapon Weapons should not be in the hands of your everyday citizen. The world would be a safer place if people weren’t able to just go out and buy a weapon. So yes I this bill should be passed to stop all the assaulting of weapons.

Gay and lesbian adoption ban 2018

As a person who is pro equality. I feel as if a this law should not be passed. The foster care system is filled with children who are not getting adopted. If there is a couple who is willing give the love and care to a child it should not matter wether if it’s two woman or two men. Sources who are against gay and lesbian people adopting say that it simply goes against the religious views of the people. Overall children need families and if there are gay couples willing to adopt children and give them everything they need, then there should not be anything wrong with that. This is why this law should not be passed.

Link: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.lgbtqnation.com/2018/02/bill-making-legal-ban-gays-lesbians-adopting-passes-

This bill passed in the House on February 27, 2018 and goes to the Senate next for consideration. All precautions should take place to help limit the spread of prostitution. If victims and states could fight it online it would be one step closer to helping end it.

I believe a citizen should not be penalized with the use or distribution of the substance if it is legal within the state. If marijuana is legal in a state, it’s for a reason. Distributors of the substance should be allowed to help others who suffer from many diseases or illnesses. The use of Marijuana medicinally has helped over a million of people in the United States and criminalizing people who distribute it is only going to stop patients from getting better as there’s only a certain amount of dispensaries in every state.

There are many benefits to ObamaCare such as protection against health care fraud and Rx discounts for seniors. This bill bill would block Planned Parenthood from getting medicaid being reimbursed for any services that aren’t abortions for patients like testing for STDs. This bill also stops you from using tax credits to buy insurance that gives coverage for abortions. We cannot let that happen he is breaking up families and can even cause children to be homeless . Some democratic senators have introduced a bill to prevent that . We cannot just ban a certain group of people for their form of beliefs. In my opinion that is extremely racist and unfair. So yes we should pass this bill to not give him the right to ban civilized humans for a choice of religion etc . And maybe if president trump still wants to argue we can modify our bill to not ban civilized humans but ban the ones who are convicted of some act of terrorism .

https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/s54/summary

H.R. 315: Improving Access to Maternity Care Act

I believe this act should be passed because women should be able to get maternity care easily and women should not have so ridiculously expensive things you have to pay and get to give birth to a human bean in this country. Maternity healthcare is near impossible to get fully covered and in most state is hard to get pre qualified for regular healthcare, and Maternity care is even harder. With most maternity insurances if there's any complications you could lose the very little coverage you have. A child is already expensive worrying about proper health care shouldn't be another worry added to the bucket. In the new act you get this coverage even if you were pregnant before your coverage starts. Under the health care law pre-existing conditions are covered, including pregnancy.

It is just another obstacle in the way providing for prejudice and causing division for our nation. Providing equal provisions for the fair labor standards act is something that is more than necessary. I don't think there is much to be changed about the bill because it is well composed. I say that this bill is going to cause a great change, one not even clearly visible to all. It will lessen the gap between men and women when it comes to different pay. They will be treated fairly by being payed more equally. This is a long lasting problem that together our nation will and is slowly fixing. I believe in the utter and complete equality of man and woman. So I most definitely believe in this bills movement through congress and this nation.

H.B. 389 - (Social Media Privacy Protection Act)

The purpose of this bill is to amend a law in Georgia that allows employers access to employees' or prospective employees' social media information. I believe the bill should be passed because I don't think it is an employer's business what an employee posts on social media. It's bad enough that our electronic devices are already constantly monitored by phone companies and the government, I don't think social media is serious enough for employers to get that kind of access. I also think the bill should be passed because even though I am against employers having social media access regardless, it is even weirder to have PROSPECTIVE employers allowed that access because if you're not hired, you basically just gave a stranger your personal information. While I do think people should hold themselves accountable for what they post and should be mindful in terms of the image they want to maintain, I still don't think it's something employer's should have personal access to because it doesn't define us.

H.R. 5045: STOP Homelessness Act of 2018

Bill: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow taxpayers to designate over payments of tax as contributions and to make additional contributions to the Stop Homelessness Fund, and for other purposes.
I believe this bill should be passed because homelessness is a big problem that many people have to go through. There is over 549,928 people experiencing homelessness in the United States including over 120,000 children. Being homeless is a difficult situation that is not a chosen condition and is that is rarely self-inflicted. When it come to homeless people we should all speak and think kindly of them, we Americans should get together as one and help one another. I think that taxpayers should overpay tax to contribute with the homelessness fund. No living person in this world should have to go through something like that. Also we people who have more benefits than other we should donate person hygiene and other personal care items to the homeless including clothing that we no longer want or need. We should all donate our time and money to help out these people in need.

S.756-- SOS Act of 2017
(Save Our Seas Act)
This bill has passed the senate, and calls upon the Executive Branch to get the US state department more involved in addressing and taking action towards marine debris. This allows the State Department to directly work with countries that are known to have significant detrimental contribute to plastic in the oceans. This will launch debates and processes on how to resolve environmental issues and manage waste that oftentimes get polluted into the ocean. The state department will have a significant role in contributing to the improvement of the ocean health. This bill also reintroduces the NOAA Marine Debris program for up to five years with a maximum of $10 million per year. The Federal budget is normally weighing and choosing who to fund for, but with this act, the NOAA program is guaranteed funding.

I believe this act should be passed because this would greatly benefit the ecosystem of the oceans. The state department would take initiative and help marine ecosystems across the globe. Many species of marine wildlife are decreasing and the fish we enjoy may disappear from the face of earth in the upcoming years. There are already very few sea turtles out at sea. Only about 1-2% survive to adulthood. With plastic debris left out in the oceans, sea turtles can mistake plastic bags for jellyfish, which are their main source of food. Some sea turles, such as the green sea turtle, are one of the very few animals that ear sea grass. With their pupulation decrease, seaweed population can go rampage in the oceans. The critically endangered species of sea turtle are the Kemp Ridley and the Hawksbill. The extinction of sea turtles would mean a great population increase in jellyfish and man-o-wars in the oceans. This would also lead to decrease in fish population because of jellyfish predation towards fish. Discarded fishing nets left in the ocean can destroy corals, thus , destroying the habitat of some fish. The mission of the NOAA Marine debris program is to investigate and monitor ocean debris to help the marine ecosystem thrive. By having the federal budget fund this program, marine life will be greatly benefited.

S. 188: Eliminating Government-funded Oil-painting Act

I believe that this bill should become a law because according to this bill, a lot of money is being spent on portraits that the public won't even see. Examples include $38,250 by the Environmental Protection Agency for a portrait of former Administrator Lisa Jackson; $22,500 by the Department of Commerce for a portrait of John Bryson, who served as Secretary for only eight months; $46,790 by the Department of Defense for a portrait of the former Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, his second official portrait; and $25,000 by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for a portrait of former Administrator Daniel Goldin. Instead of spending the money on portraits, it can be spent on more important organizations. So I do agree with this bill, which its purpose is to prohibit federal funds from being used to pay for the costs of painting portraits of officers and employees of the federal government
