One of my favorite characters of American History is not an American at all. A lover of liberty and a friend to the enslaved this Frenchman not only fought alongside and led patriots against the British to liberate the American Colonies during the American Revolution, but afterwards attempted to dismantle slavery by trying to convince the early leaders of the our nation (e.g. Washington, Jefferson, Madison) to abolish the institution not only from American society, but from their own personal plantations. He later brought these ideals to France and drafted the Declaration of the Rights of Man which aided the French in a revolution of their own. Much of his life was spent in prison during the French Revolution. This person is important to me because he was a fighter for justice and the liberty of humanity from tyranny.

Tony Montero, Tony was my great uncle and fought in World War II. He was a very nice and caring person and did anything for his family. He died in 2014 at 99 years old. He was always helping out others and as far as i could remember talked very little about his time in World War II and i think it was because one of the few things i heard him talk about was seeing children being involved with the casualties. He was very selfless and put others first.

I believe that history repeats itself and the BLM movement is currently the same as the movement that MLK started. MLK led a movement followed by millions and this movement was probably the biggest movement in the ´40s ´50s ´60s and MLK did it all peacefully. The peaceful movement proved to the world the daily struggles African american have to face just because of the color of their skin.

How hard he worked every day, how he would show up 5 hours early to workouts, and how he was a good father who cared about his daughters very much. And till this day when people shoot something in the trash they will yell “Kobe”. But not everyone even really knows him and if he had that much of an impact that we say his name when we throw trash away then we should know about him. I think it will also be more of a fun and interesting lesson.

She could always solve challenging math problems and eventually went on to study advanced mathematics with a University of London professor. Ada was also very interested in Charles Babbage’s engine he had invented for computing calculations. I think people should know about her because Babbage is known as the father of the computer, but Ada created the codes for the device which influenced how computers and most technology works today She is important to me because math is my favorite subject, so without her ideas our math curriculum would not be what it is today.

Elisabeth Lindberg
The historical figure i chose to write about is known worldwide for his bravery. Martin Luther King Jr. is who I chose to write about because he is a huge inspiration. I aspire to be like him, a role model, a leader, a hero. MLKJ led the the civil rights movement in the United States, he led this movement from 1955 till 1968 when he was sadly assassinated. He is important to me because right now the BLM movements are violent and dangerous which is a scary to live in. MLKJ led his movement with no violence and civil disobedience. I think this is a good example to show that not everything has to be saved with violence and rebellion.
