One takeaway from the video was that human institutions and human civilizations have evolved over time, and that this evolution affects what humans may fight over in wars.
Additionally, another takeaway from the video was that some people may receive a sort of adrenaline rush from fighting. An example of why such adrenaline rushed may occur is the will to want to protect companions in war while fighting. 
Additionally, in way earlier times of humanity resources such as food were of high priority to the survival of the human species. A scarcity of such food in earlier times of humanity would also most likely lead to war or combat of some sort. However, in modern times food is more abundant than in much earlier times of civilization, even though starvation is still very much a large and real issue.
