While creating my Padlet, I noticed strong connections between how each author described the effects of social media on college students. Wilkinson and Twenge both emphasize emotional consequences like anxiety and unhappiness, while Fuchs and Cain show how these effects extend to social isolation and academic struggles. Seeing these relationships helped me understand that social media’s impact is both mental and behavioral. Making these connections expanded my ideas about my topic and will help me organize my essay by linking emotional, social, and academic effects into clear sections.
