So from pages 23 to 28 it described how awful and difficult the trip on the train was when they were taken away. They barely got anything to eat or drink and not only that there were 80 Jews stuffed into one cart at a time. It was hot and disgusting and some people started hallucinating. A lady claimed she kept seeing a fire but there never was one. Then all of the sudden they were told to get off the trains and women go to the right and men go to the left. From this point forward Elie and his father were separated from the rest of their family. Elie and his father were on their way down the cremation lane where they will be thrown into a fire and killed.

So far what is happening is that the Jewish family of 6 was taken to many different concentration camps. They were taken to the first camp on a disgusting train. They had started hallucinating because of the lack of food they were getting and also the amount of space in the cart. There were eighty people to a train so it was really rough to move around. I honestly think this is awful. Just all the things that the Jews had to go through made me feel disgusted. The fact that they were put on a train with barely any food and had to fit eighty people in one small train was not right. I personally don't think they were treated right because they never really did anything to the Nazis. So I really think they should have lived a free life without the Nazis!!

A lot of people want his gold cap that is on his tooth, so eventually someone pulls it out. Everyone gets called into a line and they go down the line and write certain people down. His father was written down, but he was not. When everyone goes to work the next morning his everyone that was written down had to stay at the camp. They also hung the Jews that committed crimes. I think that this is a terrible thing to do, especially since they hang them in front of everyone. I don't think any of them are treated correctly. I think they should have more food and a better place to stay. They should not have separated families, the families should have been able to stay together. Overall it is a terrible event that happened in history and hope it will never happen again.

I am doing pages 74 to 75. I am changing Elie's point of view into his fathers point of view.

Today was the day of where I would figure out if I was going to continue working at the camp or get cremated. I stepped out just far enough to see the doctors deciding our fate. They look angry and mean but when it was my turn I went out all tough like I could handle anything. I glanced to see if they wrote down my number but it really didn't look like they had. When everyone was finished they called around ten numbers out but mine was one of them. The only thought that went through my head was that I was getting cremated any time soon. They told us just to stay in the camp while the other Jews went to work. I was so worried. What was happening to my son? What if he is dead already? I couldn't help to think this so I ran toward the camp he was at. I saw him running straight toward me and his face looked very anxious. At this point I just don't know what is going to happen with our lives.

Night reminded me of Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. Both of the stories are are told from the prospective of a young child. Also both of the kids had an encounter with the Nazis. Eliezer (Night) was taken by the Nazis and he was forced to do work and other things no kid at his age would be doing nowadays.
This book connects to the world because Eliezer was taken in by the Nazis and had to do work for them. They got very little food and rest and had to be working most of the time. This connects to slavery in the modern day because adults and even kids are pulled into slavery to do work for the slave owners. They get very little food and rest just like Eliezer and his father, Schlomo.

The book Night is similar to the book The Boy In The Striped Pajama's by John Boyne They are related because the kid in night is a Jew and the boy that Bruno encounters in boy in the stripped pajamas is also a Jew. My text to world connection is that there are people in the world that are treated almost the same as the Jews were treated, we have slaves today who are treated horribly just like the Jews were.

the book the night is similar to the boom. they are related because they are both about concentration camps, and world war II. They are also non fiction too. They also are really good high energy and action packed books.
