My Vision

My goal for studying law extends beyond the courtroom to become a beneficial influence in society. I want to be a well-rounded legal practitioner who not only knows the complexities of the law but also appreciates its human side. I see myself contributing to a society where justice is more than simply a concept, but a daily reality for everyone. I want to be a champion of fairness, an advocate for the underprivileged, and a part of the effort to create a legal system that embodies the ideas of equality, ethics, and human rights.

My Mission

My objective as a law student is to develop a complete grasp of legal principles, legislation, and case law while also honing critical thinking, research, and advocacy abilities. Throughout my academic endeavors, I am committed to keeping high ethical standards and retaining honesty. Participating in legal clinics, internships, and community service is part of my aim to get practical experience and actively contribute to the resolution of real-world legal issues. As a future legal practitioner, I dedicate myself to continuing learning, remaining current on changes in legal landscapes, and hope to constructively affect the industry.

In the first week of our semester, we covered the basics of business law. We also explored various types of businesses, delved into pre-incorporation contracts, and learned about the key players in starting a company, known as promoters. The process of transforming a business into a legal entity and understanding its distinct legal identity was discussed. We also touched on the concept of "removing the corporate veil," highlighting the separation between a company and its owners. Additionally, we emphasized the significance of a company's constitution, outlining internal regulations. Overall, this laid a solid foundation for a comprehensive understanding of the expansive field of business law.

We explored the intricate details of partner relationships, especially focusing on matters of liability and how shares are allocated. Moreover, we gained an understanding of the legal implications and responsibilities that come with being a partner in a company or group, often summarized as the principle of "All for one and one for all.

We studied how to interpret and put into practice various sections of the act that deal with how partners relate to people doing business with them, the responsibilities of partners, the responsibilities of the entire partnership, and the mishandling of money. These sections specifically include Section 7, Section 8, Section 9, Section 10, Section 11, Section 12, and Section 13.

During the 9th week of our lectures, we looked into the basics of company law. We learned that a marketer is essentially the person or thing that kicks off or organizes a business. In corporate law, a promoter is the individual who gets a company up and running. We also covered the distinctions between directors and shareholders, the different types of companies (private and public), the share-related responsibilities of a company, and the overall workings of a company. This included how shares are distributed among members and the available solutions when issues arise.

First, we learned about the basic things that make a company unique, like its legal status, limited liability, and ability to keep going even if the founders aren't around. Then, we talked about the step-by-step process of starting a business, looking at the legal requirements and different kinds of businesses, both public and private.
