         <title>The transition zone </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There is a part of the Transition Zone is called the Sahel. Sahel means “shore” or “coast” in Arabic. Sahel there are lot vegetation and broders the sands of Sahara.<br>Sahara is an area of land that transitions between the desert climate of North Africa and the tropical savanna of Equatorial  Africa.<br>This zone has dry soil for much of the year. This vast biome is home to a diverse population of flora and fauna. There are lot different animals there, Wild dogs, cheetahs, lions, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, and gerbils.<br>Transition between the Islamic cultures of North Africa and the Christian and animist to its south.<br>Europeans were trading extensively with Africa . They traded for African  gold and for enslaved people. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The subregion is home to the Serengeti plain, as well as Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya, and the Great Rift Valley. This subregion includes the countries of Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.<br>In the late 1400s, Portuguese claimed control of the area.<br>Many Easy Africans also speak African languages. Swahili is the most widely spoken African language in the region.</div>]]></description>

         <title>West Africa </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>West Africa is largely tropical with a landscape that includes desert, shoreline, low plains, highlands, and rain forest.<br>Oil, natural gas,  coal, gold, and uranium are just some of the natural resources in west Africa.<br>West African societies are very diverse. Their culture reflects three main influences -traditional African cultures, European culture and Islam.<br>Hundreds of different languages are spoken in West Africa. In some areas, using the colonial languages of French, English or Portuguese helps people from different groups communicate with each other.</div>]]></description>

         <title>South Africa </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Southern Africa consist of 14 countries, 10 of which are on the mainland. The other four are island countries.<br>Hundreds of species including cheetahs, lions, hippopotamus, buffalo, wild dogs, leopards, elephants, giraffes and many types of birds and fish live here.<br>After World War I many countries sought independence from Europe rule. In South Africa society has been segregated inti blacks, whites, and South African coloured since colonial days.<br>Poor farming practices. Depleting the soil of nutrients and leaving empty, barren fields. This leads to deforestation, which can cause habitat destruction on a large scale.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Equatorial Africa </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Located on and near the equator in central Africa. Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, and the southern part of Chad.<br>High temperatures and tropical climates. Tropical rain forest. Rainforest, and variety of animal life.<br>Europeans they were interested in trade. They sought gold, ivory, textiles, and enslaved Africans . Millions of people from the African interior were sold into slavery. The loss of so any young people to the slave trade did great harm to the societies left behind. <br>Farming is still the main economic activity, with subsistence farmers being the most common. Commercial farming, logging fishing, mining and manufacturing are also practiced. Many countries are beginning to industrialize and use technology. </div>]]></description>
