1. To eat like a horse. Русский аналог - есть как лошадь; иметь волчий аппетит. Употребляется в значении кого-то, кто питается в очень больших количествах, имеет отменный аппетит.
2. Straight from the horse's mouth. Русский аналог - из первых уст. Речь идет о ситуации, когда кто-то узнает о чем-то одним из первых.
3. To flog a dead horse. Русский аналог - стегать мертвую лошадь. Речь идет о ситуации, когда кто-то делает что-то напрасно, без результата.

Также я нашла еще несколько интересных идиом:
1. А dark horse. Русский аналог почти дословен - темная лошадка.
Так называют внезапно появившегося малоизвестного человека.
2. Hold your horses. Русский аналог - придержи коней, легче на поворотах, не гони коней.
Кроме работы, лошади издавна использовались для верховой езды. Слишком стремительный бег ассоциируется с буйным поведением. Придержать, осадить коней значит не волноваться, не торопиться, успокоиться.
3. You can take a horse to the water, but you cannot make him drink - можно пригнать коня на водопой, но нельзя заставить его пить.
Смысл этой пословицы ясен: не всего можно добиться силой. Близкие русские выражения: насильно мил не будешь, сердцу не прикажешь.

My story:
When I was six years old I wanted to make a special present for my mom. First of all, I thought of buying something special and beautiful but it was difficult to find enough money. It is as impossible for a six-year girl as pigs might fly.
That's why I decided to draw a wonderful painting. I asked my parents to buy some glue, kids' paint, spangles and splash-paper.
My parents entered the room when I was drawing. My father said: "Look around! This place is a pigsty!"
That's how I understood that we sometimes have to choose between a creativity and a purity. I've chosen a creativity but it was a wrong way. So now I realize that I make a pig's ear of drawing.

I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth so I had to achieve my goals in life making huge efforts every day. At school I was a kind of ordinary child with common abilities and possibilities. I wore simple clothes and was a good pupil. But sometimes I misbehaved and it had its effects. My teacher sometimes called me and asked me why have I done this or that and surprisingly I founded an excuse. My friends said that I was silver-tonged and that was the reason everyone believed in in my stories. But every cloud has a silver lining and I became very sensible person despite of my past. I understood that I have to be cautious about what I am going to say because it really makes sense at the end.

My story:
My mom had alweys wanted me to become an accountant, but it is not my cup of tea. I don't like repetitive work, it's very boring from my point of view.I wouldn't do it for the all tea in China. In my opinion, one has to do what he wants, otherwise such a worker is as good as a chocolate teapot.

Once on Friday I was skipping my classes at the University. I told to the monitor of our group that I was ill. In fact, I decided to go to the art gallery at the opening of the exhibition. There was a lot of people at the exhibition, there isn't enough room to swing a cat. Therefore, it was very difficult to see something. Nevertheless, I was noticed by my English teacher.
